Find out how to feed SELECT GOLD properly below.

SELECT GOLD is a complete feed (no additional feeding necessary). Divide the daily ration into two portions (Junior into at least three portions). Please feed wet food at room temperature. Always provide fresh drinking water for your dog.

The feeding recommendation for adult and senior dogs depends on the dog's weight and activity level.

For puppies, the feeding recommendation is determined by the puppy's current age and expected final adult weight.

The high energy density makes SELECT GOLD Mini Junior and Medium Junior ideal for pregnant and lactating dogs. Feed pregnant dogs SELECT GOLD Mini Junior and Medium Junior from the 5th week of pregnancy, giving them 1.3x the amount of their normal feed. Lactating dogs can be fed an unlimited amount.

The information on feeding is only ever a recommendation. Actual requirements depend on a large number of factors such as the size and activity level of your dog.

When switching foods, take care to replace the old food with SELECT GOLD gradually (over the course of approx. one week). In this way, you ensure optimum tolerance and acceptance during the transitional period.

The SELECT GOLD Sensitive nutritional concept is tailored to meet the needs of dogs with sensitive stomachs. The wet and dry food formulations are also ideally compatible with each other. This is the optimal prerequisite for mixed feeding.

With mixed feeding, your dog's daily nutrition includes both dry and wet feed from SELECT GOLD Sensitive as separate meals. Your dog will benefit from all the advantages of the different kinds of feed and will also enjoy the variety. If it is necessary to switch feeds (e.g. for health reasons), your dog is already used to eating different kinds of food. We recommend feeding at different times due to the difference in digestion times between dry and wet foods.

Wet food

  • Supports the intake of fluids (especially in summer)
  • Different flavours provide variety
  • Contains fewer calories and so can be fed in larger portions – wet meals mean a fuller dog bowl

Dry food

  • The crispy consistency encourages chewing to support the mechanical abrasion of dental plaque
  • Helps your pet feel full for longer
  • Stays fresher and appetising in the bowl for longer, especially in summer

Start with the amount of wet food you would like to feed as a basis. For example, if you want to feed your adult dog a total of 200 g SELECT GOLD Sensitive wet feed per day, the amount of dry food is calculated as follows:

The recommended daily ration for an adult dog weighing 15 kg is 500 g. This means that 200 g of wet food represents approx. 40% of his daily ration. As a result, you have to cover 60% of his daily ration with dry food. The recommended daily ration for SELECT GOLD Sensitive dry food is 200 g, i.e. feed an additional 120 g (approx.) in dry food per day.

Please note that this is an example only. You must calculate how much of each food to feed as a percentage. The information on feeding is only ever a recommendation. Actual requirements depend on a large number of factors such as the size and activity level of your dog.
